Timbre!!!

Dinner and chill today at, .....YAY one of my favorite restaurant bar, Timbre!!!! Ive been to the one at Art house, Substation countless times but this is the 1st time Ive been to the 1 at Old School, Mount Sophia. (Notice their location, are at all those arty farty places...hmmm haha)

So...its a friday night...and...We didnt made a reservation. We though of going early but end up reach at 7 plus, bad timing, waited for an hr and a half before we were given the bar seats and then waited for another 1 hr to get our table. FML...this is so bad... 2 and a half hr of waiting. The business is too good I guess, afterall its a friday night. Next time make reservation make reservation make reservation!!! ok our fault, its quite last min so we cant get reservation...but since I haven met up with nic and daryl for so long, we had a long chat and time past quickly. But still, wait till abit dulan...But this thing came...yea...and all the anger and impatience were gone...yes this thing...
Their famous roasted duck pizza, its really great, thin crust makes it really crispy, plus its top with crispy cracker (which I think its popiah skin cut into small pieces and fried), super crispy. There are pieces of duck meat inside the cheese layer, and the (i think its peking duck sauce on top) or maybe some sweet sauce, but it gives you this peking duck feel. Its like a oriental style pizza, peking duck but not as nice as peking duck cos no crispy skin but still got other crispy elements. I always love this kind of creative dishes where you combine east and west dishes together and make a wonderful dish out. Really love it.

Very inspired but this creation, im gonna try making some easy pizza, let me draft out some sketches 1st. LOL oops nonono, im not doing design now...no need sketch...but still need think.

Omg look at this close up view...lols...haha

Another pizza we ordered was the smoked salmon, nic choose this 1, dunno why but i think he liked the name, lol, not bad man. The 1st look reminds me of Jiu Cheng Ta omelet (a kind of vege fried omelet which is popular in taiwan or some other chinese country, i forgot) not sure if i spelled it correctly but its some omelet that smells dam nice. I think its because of the cheese, its too yellow, dont have the abit burnt look on it, dont know if its suppose to be like that, so it looks like omelet. Plus the leafy deco on top makes it looks like a omelet fried with leaves...But no, this dish has not oriental input. Its a salmon with mushroom and alittle onions (yucks, but they are in real thin strips so cant really taste, I just eat cos i too hungry, didnt bother to remove it, but i did remove the leaves before eating :D) Not a bad idea to add salmon to pizza, quite nice and different too. (and this pic is bad cos we moved to a table, like finally, and the lights are real dim, phone cam sux)

And the drink i ordered....dang dang dang dang... Lime Margarita, Hmmmm ok not bad, not bad, Timbre have decent cocktails, some are quite good. Ok abit of intro on this Margarita, It contains Tequila, Triple sec and Lime juice. A nice sour combination that covers the taste of the tequila, which I find it good. The 3 ingredients proportion wise are very crucial to this and can vary the taste with it. I had another 1, which ive no picture, cos of the lighting at my table, its a dirty martini. I was deciding whether to get a martini or dirty martini as I want a strong cocktail. I end up choosing dirty martini because I seldom drink it, wanna see if this place have some nice stuff that attracts me, ended up its not that fantastic. Dirty martini consist of Gin, dry vermouth and olive juice, maybe its not my type, i prefer martini or sweet version. Overall, as im not a cocktail expert, I wont give it too low of a review, i would put it ard 7/10 for cocktails. Definitely better then those you find in clubs, I realized clubs have terrible cocktails. Somewhere slightly above average standard for their cocktails.

Hmmm for food wise its good, 9/10 for their pizza, especially the roasted duck I give it 11/10 haha. Service wise i think its too busy so its not good, 5/10. Ambiance is good, OH I forget to say the live band, haha everynight theres live band performance there, it increase the ambiance there and makes it a real good place to chill, I dont really listen to english songs but they sing those popular ones that I know, so yea, not bad. And also 1 very important point for an open air restaurant is that it would get hot after some alcohol, so there have to be enough fans around, and for timbre, good air circulation and enough fans. So yea, for ambiance wise im giving it a 8.5/10.

Overall, if you made ur reservation and go there on time for your table, you would have a wonderful time, so I rate timbre 8.5/10, definitely a good place to chill. Location is on the website :
