Cinderella

Cocktail time :D nono, its a mocktail today. A non alcoholic cocktail. This mocktail is called Cinderella, why this mocktail? Because its a fruity drink and contains lots of vitamin c from the fruits. Nice and healthy eh. Moreover, it have a nice name, Cinderella. We all heard of the story Cinderella when we were young, there is this nice good girl who is bullies by her step sisters eventually got her wish granted by her fairy godmother and went to the ball and meet the prince, she ran away after the clock hits 12 and then the prince took her shoes and went looking for her, he found her and then happily ever after.

Let all the people who are suffering have their wish granted and may everything be happily ever after :D

First, we shall introduce the equipments, we need a cocktail shaker, and a jigger to do it like bartenders. BUT worry not if you dont have theres, i found some method to do them without professional tools. We can use any water bottle as a shaker, as long as it has a opening big enough to stuff ice in. We can use any measuring cup as a jigger, 1 oz is 28.3 ml roughly 30 ml from a measuring cup will do.

Next is the ingredients:
ok here i substitute the normal grenadine which sometimes is added into the mocktail cinderella with pomegranate juice. Grenadine is made from pomegranate juice, sugar and syrup, i figured out that using the pomegranate juice will be better, as i seen the pokka pomegreanate juice writes VITAMIN C lol, so i bought that bottle of pokka pomegranate juice instead of using grenadine. Which cause my version of cinderella to be less sweet too. syrup sux, unhealthy :D

OK talk less and start the ingredients

Lemonade - 2 oz or 60ml (original recipe uses lemon juice, i decided to dilute it till it becomes lemonade for my recipe, i figure out there since i substitute the pomegranate juice in which have a lower sugar content, i would need the sourness level to be lower also.

orange juice - 2 oz or 60ml (sweet oranges is preferred, or you can use those orange juice sold outside, oh i love minute maid orange juice :D)

pineapple juice - 2 oz or 60ml (i use those can juices as i could not find small slices of pineapple, they only sell big whole pineapple, but do choose sweet pineapple if you are using real juice.)

pomegranate juice - 2 oz or 60ml (i use pokka pomegranate juice, or other brand also can, most supermarket do sell them, but need to look around abit for it)

By right the recipe should be 1 oz, but i want to drink more :D

Ginger ale - 4oz or 120ml (get this at the can drinks section of supermarkets, its sometimes called ginger beer, its non alcoholic haha, just a name, like root beer. Quite a nice drink, gasy drink with a ginger taste.
Ok before i get into the shaking of the mocktail part, i want to emphasize something about squeeze lemon and oranges if you are making them from real lemon or orange. Most people would squeeze it hard, my advice is to do it gently, if not the lemon will feel pain and the juice wont be nice. Just kidding, no, lemon wont feel the pain, but the bitterness from the lemon skin will go into the juice and makes it taste slightly bitter.

OK step 1, eh wait, theres only 1 step hahaha, that is to put ice in the shaker and pour all the ingredients together and shake. Here i have the water bottle as the shaker so that i can show the colour of the juices. ok, things to note, ice level should be around 3/4 so there is room for shaking. Shake it hard for 8 seconds, standard cocktail shaking does it for 5 to 10 seconds, so lets take the middle, 8 seconds, not too long, if not the ice will melt and dilute the drink, too short wont give enough coldness to the drink. So 8 seconds is just nice.
After the shake....

Pour it into a cocktail glass if you are doing the 1 oz version, im doing the 2 oz version, so its in a glass, top it up with the 4 oz or 120 ml of ginger ale and garnish with lemon slices or orange slices :DEnjoy, this fruity and full of vitamin mocktail, Cinderella.
May your fairy godmother, grant you your wish, let you go to the ball and meet the prince :D Because all good people deserve something good :D
