HI!!!! YEA!!!! its me again!!!!!!!!!!!! with some nice beef kway tiao!!!!!!! Its at lavender food square, I have been going there for lunch quite often as its quite near my work place. Normally i would have the wanton mee (which i blog about it afew post back) wooohooo my fav!!!! but sadly...I went yesterday, its not open...the stall close 2 days a month...and I actually tio the close day on a day I was craving so badly for it...sad...how sia... So I walk ard...hopefully I can find something nice, and tada....this stall with some que caught my eye, its ard 2 30 pm, after lunch time, so most stall have no que, but this stall have like 5 person queing up, so I decide to try. Singaporean are like that, see got que no need think 1, just que together only, the more the merrier. HAHA, so yea my 1st time trying.
Ok firstly I wanna say this pic sux...cos the food looks like I stir it and then take the picture, but nooooo what happen was that the aunty mess up my order and give me the soup base 1, I said its ok, cos im fine with anything, but she insist on changing it for me so while changing the sauce the ingredients were mess up sad...if not the pic will be a nice 1 with the garnish and stuff on top :D oh well, who cares about looks, its about the taste!!
Ok ill start with the sauce, its nice and thick and not too oily or too starchy. The kway tiao is soft and quite chewy, cooked just right, not overcook. But what really impress me is the ingredients inside, there are beef sliced that are cook to a good tenderness, I love beef that are not so hard, so the tenderness is good for me, but it can be more tender thou. And also there is this I dont know what but I assume its beef skin(I think only ar....i not sure what is this) its a chewy nice abit semi transparent whitish thing, taste like the skin, and its really nice. And lastly the beef balls, beef balls always taste better then pork balls. Overall, nice!!! Specially love the sauce and the "beef skin". And lastly of course there are the tau gay, veges and garnish inside.
Ok Im gonna throw them out before I eat, ever since Im a kid, I cant stand spring onions and those garnishing stuff on top on noodles or stuff, and I actually classified tau gay and veges as garnishing to noodles, haha, seriously I think they just add them so it looks like a more balance meal and people will buy cos it looks abit healthier. Ok maybe it gives some crispiness to the kway tiao but I just dont like, yea im a stubborn kid haha :D. Especially to spring onions, I will pluck out every bit of it from my noodles, carrot cake, porridge or whatever hahaha. And when people tell me "eat spring onions will become clever, in chinese chi chong, hui chong ming" I will tell them, eat spring onions will make you fart more :D just dont like those taste...sad...thats why I cant be chef sia, so picky about food, if I ever have to cook, my dishes sure dont have all these 1, customer ask for it I will say " NOOO, i dont keep them in my kitchen, cos i dont like" wah...then gg, lose business...hahaha. But 1 of my dream is to open up my own restaurant bar, ok will talk more about my dreams next time, Im gonna sleep now, its 4 30am lols
Lastly of cos, cannot forget this, its located at Lavender food square and its called "Bugis Street Ngak Seah Beef Kway Teow"
